Allen Meadows - Score: 89-92 (2023 January)

A more deeply pitched, and equally spicy, nose reflects notes of plum and various dark berries along with exotic tea hints that include jasmine and orange peel. As is usually the case, there is more size, weight and richness if less minerality and detail to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mid-plate along with excellent depth and persistence on the somewhat raspy and overtly austere finale that may be too much for some. I suspect that this too will better harmonize with time in bottle.
